Turkey Mountain Rocks! Hike with Steve King

We will reschedule! The upper parking lot is closed!

Learn the Geologic History of Turkey Mountain and its formation 300 million years ago!

Turkey Rocks is a 2 mile easy to moderate hike with multiple stops on established trails. Geologist, Steve King, will lead the tour and discuss features and the processes that created them. The most common fossils of the period will be seen and discussed. The features, processes, and fossils are evidence and chapters within the story of when and how Turkey Mountain was formed.

This hike can be strenuous in places and is NOT recommended for people with mobility issues or children under 12. The hike will last about 2 hours.

There is another hike scheduled April 30th also!

Steve runs this hike for River Parks and has published a Turkey Mountain Guidebook!
